š¾ Client Safety, Vaccination & Salon Policy
At Le Pawrlor, the health, safety, and well-being of every dog and every person are our top priorities. Grooming involves close contact, specialized tools, and sometimes heightened stress for pets. The following policies help ensure a safe, calm, and hygienic environment for all.
1. Dog Vaccination Requirements
To protect all pets and staff, all dogs must be up to date on core vaccinations, including:
- Rabies (as required by law)
- Distemper
- Parvovirus
Proof of vaccination may be requested prior to or at the first appointment. Puppies must have completed their initial vaccination series appropriate for their age.
Dogs showing signs of illness (coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, skin infections, or parasites) will not be groomed and the appointment will be rescheduled.
2. Fleas, Ticks & Parasites
- Dogs must arrive free of fleas, ticks, and contagious skin conditions
- If parasites are discovered during grooming:
- Grooming may be stopped immediately
- A cleaning and disinfection fee may apply
- The appointment may need to be rescheduled
3. Aggression, Biting & Stress Management
Your dogās safety always comes first.
- Dogs with known bite history or severe anxiety must be disclosed at booking
- Muzzles may be used when necessary for safety
- Grooming may be stopped if a dog becomes overly stressed, aggressive, or unsafe to handle
Le Pawrlor reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service if continuing would compromise the well-being of the dog or groomer.
4. Matted Coats & Humane Grooming
- Dogs with severely matted coats will be shaved at the groomerās professional discretion
- Dematting beyond what is humane or safe will not be performed
- Coat length requests may be adjusted to prioritize the dogās comfort and skin health
Le Pawrlor is not responsible for irritation, redness, or skin conditions revealed after mat removal.
5. Human Health & Groomer Safety
As a professional grooming environment:
- All grooming tools, surfaces, and equipment are cleaned and disinfected between every dog
- The groomer follows strict hygiene and safety protocols
- First aid procedures are in place for minor incidents
Clients are asked to inform Le Pawrlor if their dog has:
- Recently bitten or scratched a person
- Been exposed to rabies or other reportable diseases
6. Groom Review & Touch-Ups
- Owners are responsible for reviewing the groom at the time of pick-up
- Any reasonable touch-ups must be requested at that moment
- Touch-ups requested after the dog has left the salon may require a new appointment and additional charges
7. Appointments, Cancellations & Pick-Up Policy
Appointments & Cancellations
- A minimum of 24 hoursā notice is required for appointment cancellations or rescheduling
- Late cancellations or no-shows may result in a cancellation fee or refusal of future bookings
Pick-Up Policy
To maintain a calm environment:
- Only one dog is groomed at a time whenever possible
- Keeping multiple dogs in the salon may increase anxiety and stress
Dogs must be picked up within 30 minutes of the agreed-upon completion time.
- A dog-sitting fee of $10 per hour (or partial hour) will be charged for late pick-ups
8. Payment Policy
- Accepted forms of payment are cash or e-transfer
- Payment is due at the time of pick-up
9. Injury & Medical Disclosure
Clients must disclose:
- Pre-existing medical conditions
- Skin sensitivities, growths, or injuries
- Senior, mobility, or behavioral concerns
Le Pawrlor is not responsible for pre-existing conditions that may become apparent during grooming.
10. Right to Refuse Service
For the safety of all, Le Pawrlor reserves the right to refuse or end a grooming session if:
- Vaccination requirements are not met
- The dog poses a safety risk
- The dog is ill, injured, or severely stressed
- Policies are not respected
11. Owner Responsibility & Consent
By booking an appointment with Le Pawrlor, clients confirm that:
- Their dog meets vaccination and health requirements
- All information provided is accurate
- They agree to the salonās safety, payment, cancellation, and pick-up policies
- They consent to humane handling practices, including the use of grooming restraints or muzzles when necessary
